Position Summary

The Banquet Set Up team is responsible for setting up and breaking down food and beverage areas for catering events, including guest tables, chairs, buffet tables, bars, and concession stations. This role ensures all spaces are arranged according to event specifications and maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner before, during, and after events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00

Jungle Island lives up to its name with unusual flora, from the extraordinary African sausage tree to a collection of rare cycads. Visitors to Jungle Island can stroll along the 1.35 miles of winding, covered trails while enjoying the many special exhibits, attractions, and tours that are available. As Miami's brightest and most unique destination, Jungle Island continues to delight the thousands of people who visit Miami each year.

Responsibilities
  • Set up food and beverage equipment, including guest tables, chairs, buffet tables, bars, concession stations, and other related service areas, according to CAD diagrams and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).

  • Read and interpret room diagrams and event resumes to accurately configure event spaces.

  • Tear down and remove equipment and supplies promptly at the conclusion of events.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces, hallways, service corridors, and common areas.

  • Ensure storage areas remain clean, organized, and unobstructed.

  • Empty trash receptacles and operate cleaning equipment as needed.

  • Monitor event spaces during functions and respond quickly to adjustments or requests.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and event planners.

  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and days, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, floor plans, and written instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
